The Wall DVD Review

08:00:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

Starring John Cena and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, The Wall is a brand new war film from director Doug Liman, who puts viewers into the Iraq war and the soldiers, who were affected by it.

Following U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Shane Matthews, played by Cena, who is a sniper, the film sees him pairing up with Sergeant Allen Isaac (Taylor-Johnson), as they fight to make sure that a pipeline site remains clear for 22 hours.

However, the team is hit and devastation rises when one of their soldiers are shot at by an Iraqi sniper. From here, the film turns into a tension filled viewing that puts you into the heart of a war mission from all sides as a viewer.

Unlike what he has starred in before, Cena comes out and proves that he can be a serious actor, whilst Taylor-Johnson continues to present a strong standing portfolio of different talents and characters.

This film is hard hitting at times and really tests the war genre, with realistic shots. Sadly though, the plot does go a little wild, with the introduction of characters who go missing or are not included in the story as well as they could have been. However, overall the story is a gripping war piece.

There so I am giving it…

3 ½ Stars
