Good Afternoon Lovelies,

To celebrate the release of Kicks, which is available on digital download from the 22nd May, I have decided to make a feature looking at the way shoes have influenced the way characters appear or act in classic films.

Kicks tells the story of Brandon, a 15 year old whose dream is a pair of fresh Air Jordans. Soon after he gets his hands on them, they're stolen by a local hood, causing Brandon and his two friends to go on a dangerous mission through Oakland to retrieve them.

In Kicks, Air Jordans inspire inner city coming-of-age, which is why we think your website would be a good fit.  Like Brandon’s coveted Jordans, Kicks also boasts a killer soundtrack, using various hip-hop cuts from the likes of Nas and Kendrick Lamar.

The film is not only amazing for the shoes, but for many reasons. However from the list below, sometimes shoes really can make a film.

Kicks: The shoes make the character and when they are stolen your heart breaks. The trainers in the film are amazingly cool and they will be admired by many upon Kicks release and afterwards.

The Wizard of Oz: Dorothy’s iconic red slipper shoes have gone down in film costume history and will always be one of the main reasons to see the film. Don’t forget to tap them if you have a pair of your own.

Back To The Future: Marty’s shoes are still to this day cool and now they have finally been recreated. You may have to fight Seth Rogan for them, but the film’s style is finally alive lovelies.

Cinderella: The glass slipper is the making of the film and there will never be a shoe so admired and loved by little boys and girls again. However, I do worry about how she managed to run in glass shoes. That would be painful!

Pretty Woman: One of the first things you notice in Pretty Woman is the black boots that Julia Roberts’ character wears. While they were a miss for many over the years, they are now back on the catwalk. These boots really are made for walking.

Sex And The City: The Movie: Carrie Bradshaw is nothing without her shoes and the blue beauties that feature in this film help her to rebuild her relationship. Plus who wouldn’t want to decorate that new wardrobe with gorgeous shoes? It is what it was built for.
