Catfight DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Starring Anne Heche, Sandra Oh and Alicia Silverstone, Catfight, is a film that takes the dark film genres and mixes them in with comedic elements to provide us with a film that is hard to forget for a long time!

Following artist Ashley and housewife Veronica, who has a lot of money nowadays, the film sees the two college friends collide in the most unexpected way. When they both discover the other is going to be at the same event, one as a waiter and the other as a guest, they start off with the familiar friendly comments that many of us know.

However, it doesn’t last long and the catfight soon begins on screen, as their rivalry comes back to life. But, with new members to help them fight in their corner, including Silverstone’s love interest figure and a coma doctor.

The films unique spin on the female fight club genre shows that there is a different way that the action is being provided in female films. Unlike the delicate tug of the hair, which many films have been suggesting is how on-screen women should fight, this film makes for a darker tale, as it shows the true violent ways that female fights can be explored.

The story isn’t the strongest, but when it has elements that make it different and more interesting it becomes enjoyable. The mix of the two genres provide a new exploration of the catfight and it now looks like cinema is going to have to change.

This is why I am giving the film...
