Something Blue Short Film Review

07:00:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

Last week I was kindly sent the short film, Something Blue, by director Joseph Johnson and I thought I would do a small review for you all on it.

About to hit the festival scene, the film focuses on a couple as they sit at their kitchen table one morning and the events that unfold during their conversation. There is a hidden devastation between the pair and while it isn’t revealed what actually happens, there is no denying that it is easy to guess what has caused them so much heartache.

The actors are able to convey a couple who you feel could really be together and the director, who also wrote the script, has made the audience by in the thick of what they are going through by placing them at the kitchen table. A place that is known for being a family unit, but in this case there is something missing from it.

As it hits the festival circuit it already has a control and element of it that stands out compared to other films. It is a personal film and that is what makes it a strong cinematic short film.

There so I am giving it...

4 Stars
