Hey Lovelies,
As many of you may have seen or heard about, the incredible
Edinburgh International Film Festival came to a close over the weekend, and
after screening a huge 134 films at the 12 day event, the festival has
announced that this year saw a nine percent increase in the amount of people
wanting to show their work.
Over 50,000 admissions were made lovelies and over 14,600
people were lucky enough to see the chosen films at the event, after the
festival sold tickets across the city in a number of outlets, including
Cineworld, Filmhouse, Odeon and many more.
Speaking about the festival, Ken Hay, CEO Edinburgh
International Film Festival, commented; “There have been some truly memorable
moments at the Festival this year, from the spectacular opening night World
Premiere of THE LEGEND OF BARNEY THOMSON, Ewan McGregor’s sold out In Person at
the Lyceum, the skype Q&A with the stars of our Documentary Award Winning
Film THE WOLFPACK, the sensational screening of BACK TO THE FUTURE with the
RSNO performing the score live, and the opportunity to meet filmmaking legends,
Haskell Wexler and Johnnie To. Our
audiences have obviously responded to our rich and diverse programme and we are
thrilled to see the increase in admissions.”
This year’s big winner was ’45 Years’ lovelies, so have a
look out for the film very soon lovelies! It is sure to be huge, as was the
festival this year!
