NEW DAY, NEW FILM! INTRODUCING HE NAMED ME MALALA...

Hey Lovelies,

I am currently working on a few pieces for the blog, especially pieces for Friday but right now I want to share this incredible new film news! I have wanted to share this news with you all day and now I finally can aha!

Today Fox Searchlight made a new deal for the rights to distribute the documentary film ‘He Named Me Malala’ around the world later this year.

Directed by Davis Guggenheim, the documentary allows audiences to see the personal life of Malala Yousafzai. A young woman who I think is absolutely incredible!

After being wounded when the Taliban opened fire on her and her friends when she was on her school bus for speaking up for what she believed in, the 15-year-old has become an inspiration to many as she continues to speak out for girls’ education in her country. She has become a leading world campaigner, earning her the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

This new documentary will be a message to a number of girls around the world to stand up for what they believe in. It will host its own fundraising campaign along with the Malala Fund to help young women get an education around the women.

Speaking about the documentary, director Davis Guggenheim said, “Spending the last 18 months with Malala, her father Ziauddin and their family has been one of the great experiences of my life.  Now that Fox Searchlight is joining Image Nation and Participant Media, we have the opportunity to share their moving story with the world.”

Also speaking about the film Mohamed Al Mubarak, Chairman of Image Nation Abu Dhabi said, “This project has been an incredible journey and we’re now pleased to be joined by Fox Searchlight Pictures, whose expertise will help ensure the film reaches as many people as possible with its inspiring message.”

And Jeff Skoll, Participant Media’s Founder & Chairman also commented saying, “Participant is thrilled that Fox Searchlight has joined this incredible team bringing Malala’s voice, and her efforts to insure that every young woman in the world has a chance to get an education, to audiences everywhere.”

This film has automatically gone to the top of my must watch list, as this young woman has not only inspired so many but also me. Her courage and bravery has shown the world that we must stand up for what we believe in and that we should not be afraid to do so.
