TIME TO EXPLORE THE BEST COMEDY ENSEMBLES WITH THE STAG...

Hey Lovelies,
Now who doesn’t love a brilliant ensemble cast? I adore when a cast manages to make you feel as though you are one of them. You are either: the best friend, the annoying one, the funny one or the overall leading member, but whatever one you are, you are always going to need the other members to level you out. And to make the perfect team!

To celebrate the release of ‘The Stag’ on Blu-ray and DVD from the 21st July, I thought it would be a cool idea to look at some of the best ensemble comedy casts of all time.

So let’s start with the ‘The Stag’ which features Andrew Scott, Hugh O’Conor, Brian Gleeson and Peter Macdonald as a stag party that goes missing in the Irish countryside...

However I have to say there is an even bigger and more experienced comedy cast and that’s the men from ‘Monty Python’! Made up of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle and Michael Palin, the cast are still popular today and are about to return to the big stage for one final time, which makes me very sad to think they won’t do anymore. But we will always be able to remember them in ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’

And it’s not like they don’t know that we will miss them, because they have started to work with each other on side projects. For example in another great cast John Cleese and Michael Palin worked together on ‘A Fish Called Wanda’, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline. With the ‘Monty Python’ cast ending it all soon, we will have to hope they join together a lot like this…

This next film doesn’t feature one of the ‘Monty Python’ crew, but it does feature a film that I adore, because it made me get an A in Film Studies and every single cast member has managed to put a smile on my face at some point. Nick Frost and Simon Pegg have created some of the best British comedies of all time but the best one has to be ‘Shaun of the Dead’! Their bromance will always live on because of this film and this scene…

Although sometimes the best comedy ensemble casts don’t come from an on screen friendship group but from an on screen family ensemble! From the ‘Addams Family’ to ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’, family dynamics are always funny. However with ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’ it seems like they just knew how to make sure everyone’s family members could be spotted in their characters and have left us feeling like we are watching our family on the big screen…

And talking of this Wes Anderson hit, we should discuss the film ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ which has every incredible actor in it! Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton and Bruce Willis changed the way in which we look at any comedy cast from now on, because all of them are all superb in this film…

NEWSFLASH! There has been a recent ensemble cast though that has managed to keep us up to date on all the world’s news just by sitting behind their world famous desk! The cast of ‘Anchorman’ is just a gem in the world of ensemble comedy casts and I hope generations know that this is kind of a big deal…

However after you have partied with the cast of ‘Anchorman’, you may be faced with one of the biggest hangovers of all time, and you may not have a cast like ‘The Hangover’ to help you retrace your steps. Or make sure that the tiger you find in the bathroom gets back to its owner…

But you will always have that trustworthy friendship group to fall back on! And any ladies who have seen the film ‘Bridesmaids’ will know that they have got our friendship groups presented on the big screen brilliantly. I can compare a lot of people to the women in this film and have had funny moments like this cast with my own friends, although we have never experienced anything like the bridal bathroom scene…

The final ensemble cast I have to share with you is a bunch of boys that I have followed and loved since the start of their TV show. I saw this film the first weekend it came out and the laughter in the cinema was like we were watching a live comedian. ‘The Inbetweeners Movie’ is perfect for everyone because we all know someone who reminds us of one of the boys and we have all had moments like the boys have had. This is the perfect cast…

So there we have it! Some of the best comedic ensemble casts that have ever graced the big screen! What cast would you have liked to have seen on there and what actors would you like to see join together as a cast?

‘The Stag’ is out on Blu-Ray and DVD from the 21st July or on digital download from the 7th July thanks to Arrow Films!
